Ballet Central Announces Group Discounts for Upcoming Performances
21 May 2024
Ballet Central’s annual tour sees the graduating class of Central School of Ballet visiting a range of venues across the UK. These performances are an excellent opportunity to see new work, presented by dance talents on the cusp of their professional careers.
Each year Ballet Central brings audiences a mixed bill of classical ballet and contemporary pieces. The students work with highly acclaimed and current choreographers to create works directly for the company. This year’s choreographers include Jules Cunningham, longtime performer with Merce Cunningham and Michael Clark, and Carolyn Bolton, dance lecturer and choreographer working internationally across a variety of roles.
Ballet Central performances are a particularly great opportunity for young dance talent to be inspired by the future generation of dance. The tour gives aspiring dancers an excellent insight into the versatility and technical strength required for performance careers. It also provides young dancers with a good understanding of the training provided by Central School of Ballet and the ethos of the school and company.
Central School of Ballet would like to encourage more young dancers to engage with live performance. It recognises that schools and groups may not be able to facilitate such opportunities, so it wants to make its performances as accessible as possible. This simple initiative offers groups of 6+ (4+ at Oxford Playhouse) reasonably discounted tickets. The codes and offers for participating venues can all be found here.
Nurturing the next generation of dancers is vital to ensuring the future of ballet, and Central feels that as a leading national and international education provider for dance, it has a role to encourage developing talent to experience live performance. We hope that a variety of dance schools, groups and teams will take up the offer and introduce their students into the unique and welcoming world of Ballet Central.
